Thanks for visiting my site. As the name implies, I live in Transcona and I am very proud of my Community.
In 2012 I was a Chair for the Transcona centennial and I was also the Transcona mascot, Hi Neighbour Sam at that time.
As Hi Neighbour Sam I made a personal goal for the Centennial to interview and video 100 Transcona citizens and ask them why Transcona is special to them. I interviewed people of all ages but focused primarily on the Seniors who had interesting stories to tell. What I was really looking for was ideas and motivation for others to realize that Transcona is a fantastic place to live and raise a family as well as the fact that our History is interesting and unique. I actually exceeded my goal and I am forever indebted to my cameraman Don Ringach who followed me around Transcona at a moments notice.
What is interesting is that I have received a number of e-mails from across Canada who noticed my site and actually viewed an interview I did with a relative of theirs. In many cases the person I interviewed has passed away but their interview lives on.
When the Centennial ended , the Centennial website, where all my Videos resided was also ending and I could not let my 100 + videos disappear so I purchased the site and changed the name.
